I'd forgotten my coat in the sacristy at church yesterday, so I stopped on the way home from work to retrieve it. I decided to pray while I was there. So I knelt at the step in front of the altar, and poured everything out to Jesus:

  • Regarding this horrific ordeal: nothing of God would ever say such a terrible thing; only God knows His will; ergo, it's gibberish-- the mutterings of a crazy old man. Even if it was Satan himself, he does not know the will of the Father either. The whole thing is nonsense.

  • I need to put my family first; money is but a small part of my vocation as husband and father.

  • I am not getting in over my head by pursuing prayer ministry. There is training; and like all things for me, preparation will be key. My brain works on connections, so there is a possibility I have some kind of charism for it; be up front with those who would help prepare me, and take it slow.

  • I didn't have my little notebook with me and so couldn't remember all of the people to whom I've promised intercessory prayer-- but the God did and does know that by fact of omniscience. I named everyone I could, and asked the Lord to also include those intentions on my heart which I could not recall in my mind at the time.

I felt very peaceful after that. I share this in part to encourage the rest of you to also visit your churches and chapels, and pray.
